Welding
The steel plate supplied by our company has excellent welding performance. Combined with the impact toughness of the color, the steel plate has excellent resistance to welding cracking.
We should pay attention to the following aspects when welding steel:
• Use low-oxygen electrodes to reduce oxygen intake
• Welding in low stress areas
• Preheat the steel plate as required
In order to obtain good welding quality, the weld bead must be cleaned before welding, such as dehumidification, degreasing, and cleaning of scale. At the same time, the groove must be milled before welding, and welding should be carried out according to the correct instructions.
Hydrogen cracking
When welding fully martensitic quenched and tempered steels, it is very important to reduce the risk of hydrogen cracking. Welding hydrogen cracking is caused by a combination of the following single or multiple reasons:
• Excessive hydrogen intake in the weld area
• The stress at or around the weld is too concentrated
• The carbon equivalent of steel is too high
In order to avoid hydrogen cracking, the following measures can be taken:
• Use low-oxygen electrode, the hydrogen content of the electrode does not exceed 5ml /100g
• Try to weld in the low stress area, and choose the appropriate welding position
• According to the standard, determine whether preheating is required and the preheating temperature
