ATH is one halogen free flame retardant and have high thermal stability. ATH is one white powder without smell; and it is neutral substance that can react with acid and alkali both.

Applications

ATH is one inorganic fire-retardant with low cost. It has not only property as fire retardant, but also good performance to reduce smoke and toxic gas, anti drop etc, so ATH become the most widely used fire retardant in plastic and rubber, such as polyesters, acrylics, ethylene vinyl acetate, epoxies, PVC and rubber.

ATH-1 is the finest particle size that is low to 1um and narrow distribution. This grade is easy to disperse into ink etc product.

ATH is easy to influence the mechanical properties of the material because the dosage is big. the fine particle size can improve the performance, but its quantity should be controlled too.

When AL (OH)₃ is composited with other types of fire retardants, such as Zinc Borate, Phosphorus, PBDEs, synergism is very good that can improve the performance considerably.

ATH-1 grade can be surface treated by non-polar polymer of Stearic acid or Silicon Oil, the compatibility and combination with plastic material will be improved so that it is easy to evenly distribute into material, then the performance of fire retardant and mechanical properties is better than normal grade AL (OH)₃.
